There are two more Canadian teams in the 2024 National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoffs. Joining the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets are the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

On Friday, the Maple Leafs became postseason bound in the Eastern Conference when the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals both lost. The Flyers were beaten 4-2 by the Buffalo Sabres and the Capitals lost 4-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Maple Leafs are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division with 95 points. They have a record of 45 wins, 17 regulation losses and 15 losses in extra time for 105 points.

Also on Friday, the Edmonton Oilers clinched a playoff spot with a 6-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. The Oilers star in the win was Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario, who scored twice. He was one of five Canadians on the Oilers to have a multi-point game. McDavid was joined by Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia (two goals), Evan Bouchard of Oakville, Ontario (two assists), Cody Ceci of Ottawa, Ontario (two assists), and Ryan McLeod of Mississauga, Ontario (two assists).

The Oilers are in second place in the Pacific Division with 97 points. They have a record of 46 wins, 24 regulation losses and five losses in extra time, and are five points back of the first place Vancouver Canucks.
