The final of the Frozen Four took place on Saturday and nine Canadians were on the University of Denver Pioneers that won the 2024 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Championship in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Canadians that became champions were goaltender Freddie Halyk of Cochrane, Alberta, defenseman Cale Ashcroft of St. Albert, Alberta, Calgary, Alberta forwards Rieger Lorenz, and Carter King, Calgary goaltender Matt Davis, Calgary defenseman Kent Anderson, forward Massimo Rizzo of Burnaby, British Columbia, defenseman Boston Buckberger of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and forward Tristan Lemyre of Mirabel, Quebec.

In the championship final, Denver beat Boston College 2-0. Davis had 35 saves for the shutout. He made five saves in the first period, seven saves in the second period, and 23 saves in the first period. From an offensive standpoint, Lorenz led the Pioneers in scoring with two points. He set up Jared Wright for the game-winning goal at 9:42 of the second period and then scored an insurance goal with four minutes and 44 seconds left in the second period.

Of the nine Canadians on the Pioneers, two are drafted by National Hockey League teams. Rizzo was selected in the seventh round in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. He is now property of the Philadelphia Flyers. Lorenz was selected in the second round, 56th overall, by the Minnesota Wild in the 2022 Entry Draft.
