Macklin Celebrini of North Vancouver, British Columbia became the 12th Canadian hockey player to win the Hobey Baker Award on Friday. The award is presented to the top men’s hockey player every year at the National Collegiate Athletic Association level.
Celebrini, who is 17 years of age, is projected to be the first overall pick in the 2024 National Hockey League Draft. So far this season for Boston University, Celebrini, a centre, has 32 goals and 32 assists for 64 points in 38 games. He also represented Canada at the 2024 World Junior Hockey Championship.
