Orangeville native Tessa Janecke fastest to 100 points in Penn State history

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Orangeville native Tessa Janecke continues to do big things for the Penn State women’s ice hockey team. Saturday, she reached the 100-point mark in her career.

That’s impressive because she’s only a sophomore, and she reached that mark in her 74th game. That’s the fastest any player in Penn State history has reached it.

So far this season through 36 games, Janecke has scored 17 goals and she has 36 assists for 53 points. Her 100th point came in a win Saturday against RIT in the semifinals of the College Hockey American Finals. Penn State will play in the finals later this week.

This has been a busy winter for Janecke. She also competed again for Team USA in the USA’s Rivalry Series with Canada.
