Edmonton city police homicide detectives are investigating two separate Monday deaths, one in central Edmonton and the other on the northside.
A man’s body was found at a central Edmonton home about 11:20 p.m. Monday, hours after multiple people reported hearing gunshots in the area at 6 p.m. near 106 Street and 74 Avenue, police said Tuesday.

Officers found the victim after responding to a report of a dead male.

Homicide detectives are now leading the investigation, deemed suspicious. An autopsy has yet to be scheduled.
Prior to the 6 p.m. call about gunshots, northeast patrol officers responded to a home near 147 Avenue and 77 Street to investigate a 5:30 p.m. report of a shooting.
Officers found a 38-year-old man in medical distress and rendered first aid until emergency medical services arrived. Paramedics attended and treated the man, but he was declared dead on scene.
Homicide detectives were called in and an autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday morning.
