Man dies in Rankin Inlet ATV collision, RCMP say

RCMP in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, say a man has died after an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) collision by the local Northern store.

They were called to the scene on Thursday at around 4:08 p.m., the force said in a news release issued Friday.

“Rankin Inlet Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were on scene and performed life saving measures on a 60-year-old male,” the news release read.

“The male was transported to the local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.”

The Rankin Inlet RCMP and the Nunavut coroner’s office are continuing to investigate.

RCMP offer their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased man, the news release said.
