A dog owner left the internet in stitches after sharing a clip of her two dogs, a pair of Dogue de Bordeaux, chilling together—and looking like an old couple who’s had enough of each other.
In the viral video shared on TikTok on Wednesday by @daniellefirth8, the two pups, called Peggy and Hercules, can be seen sitting on the couch in front of their owner, looking at her and slowly blinking.
As she films the hilarious scene, she says: “You look like an old couple that has been married 80 years. Sick of his s***?”
The post comes with a caption that says: “It’s their home, I’m just a guest.”
Once used as guards or for hunting, the Dogue de Bordeaux is the most ancient dog breed in France, and it is even older than France itself.
According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), these mastiffs have a reputation for being loyal, affectionate, and protective. However, they can be stubborn and will dominate those who fail to apply firm training in puppyhood.
Males of this breed can grow as tall as 27 inches and weigh up to 110 pounds. Their body is stocky and close to the ground, but according to the AKC, they can “move like lions when duty calls.”
The video quickly went viral on TikTok, garnering 270,400 views and 26,500 likes on the platform so far.
One user, Jamie | Scotland Foodie, commented, “Danielle we wanted to talk to you about your drinking.” TikToker Claire said, “They’re silently judging you!”
