Police claim they were called to a domestic violence incident where Mareeba local Aubrey Donahue had threatened self-harm. He then allegedly advanced on officers with a knife when police shot him dead. His family claim the 28-year-old was unarmed, carrying a phone and attempting to surrender to police. Donahue’s brother was arrested by police immediately after the shooting and released from custody on Monday, during the protest. He raised his fist as he left the watch house
