Former President Donald Trump and Republican rival Nikki Haley are facing off in 15 states’ primary contests to mark Super Tuesday.
Haley, former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador, has been substantially trailing Trump in the polls, and heading into Tuesday’s voting, the former president had won 273 delegates in the Republican primary race, compared to Haley’s 43. A GOP candidate needs 1,215 to win the party’s nomination for November’s presidential election.
The former governor, Trump’s only serious challenger left in the Republican race, secured her first primary win on Sunday, winning the Washington, D.C., election. Polls had indicated that Trump would likely see substantial victories in all 15 GOP primary races Tuesday, with some surveys suggesting he could receive around 75 percent of the votes in some states.
Trump, long considered the clear favorite in the primary, has also sparked discussions regarding his underperformance in past votes compared to poll indicators, with Haley still receiving potentially significant support despite the likelihood of her winning the nomination all but over.

Results: The race, with 43 delegates up for grabs, was called for Trump. The former president received 64.3 percent of the vote as of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, compared to Haley’s 33.6 percent, according to results by the Associated Press.
